A dull unease in my groin area. Nothing painful, just\u2026 different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-a3b7d611-74ca-4ad0-9940-7be8e3c64eb9\">But I\u2019m a gym guy. A coach. A store owner who works 16-hour days. We don\u2019t stop for \u201cdifferent.\u201d So I didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-7980b97f-868a-4293-8426-ee89d34c5069\">I trained that Friday. I trained Saturday. I trained Sunday. Squats. Deadlifts. I finally Googled my symptoms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-a6f7d239-3c5e-4426-acb9-1333594e1a6d\">Inguinal hernia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-3a7a8fed-470c-4571-82c8-f6634c28809b\">My heart sank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-1a8da8f0-fe36-4de0-b8d2-4997955b1da2\"><strong>What Exactly is a Hernia? Weak fascia = higher hernia risk. Only surgery fixes it. You learn to pivot, to brace, to breathe through it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-ad87c868-be43-432c-ad04-49352378adc9\">January 24th, 1:00 PM \u2013 Moved to my cabin<br>6:00 PM \u2013 Discharged with medicine and a discharge summary<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-6fccc319-e369-44ec-bbfe-33b20f756fae\">I went home, took my meds, and slept.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-9ebb7460-9973-446b-a7ee-0a9a32afacf8\"><em><strong>Day 1: The First Small Steps<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-d4006a9f-5baa-4920-9fba-8f7159e53bc6\">Woke up around 8 AM. But I explained everything after I was okay. I hope you understand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-2e904b69-1c9a-4f9a-a842-f85bf0822048\"><strong>What I Learned<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-935c751f-2e3c-410a-8fd1-8aa33d6c5b41\">As a corrective exercise coach, here\u2019s what the first 14 days taught me:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><thead><tr><th><\/th><th><\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>What NOT to DO<\/td><td>What to DO<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Lift anything heavier than a plate<\/td><td>Walk slowly, often<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Ignore pain<\/td><td>Ice when something feels off<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Try to prove you\u2019re fine<\/td><td>Rest like healing is your job<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Hide everything from everyone<\/td><td>Share when you\u2019re ready<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><tfoot><tr><td><\/td><td><\/td><\/tr><\/tfoot><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-1f56e93c-3178-48f5-96df-75f9f8100907\">Mobility &amp; Recovery Notes (For My Fellow Gym People)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-84315c2e-a8e0-423b-bc89-41c14222ff78\">\u00b7 Week 1: Only walking. No stretching. No bending. No twisting.<br>\u00b7 Week 2: Gentle ankle pumps. Very light walking. Still no core engagement.<br>\u00b7 Rule: If it pulls the groin, don\u2019t do it.<br>\u00b7 Mindset: You\u2019re not recovering in a week. You\u2019re building a foundation for the next decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-c0005189-791a-4db8-b68c-2d90100ed770\"><strong>Part 1 Closing: The First 14 Days<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-cb22b9ef-2dfb-407a-beb5-dff4d38f0899\">Today marks two weeks since surgery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-39b060eb-c9b6-4341-96b6-9fe84508680c\">I\u2019m not healed. But I\u2019m healing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-8203591a-27d7-4802-b76f-461df1e5f1a2\">I\u2019m not lifting. But I\u2019m moving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-9cde22f7-0fa0-4764-b6a6-5c5cccd8a308\">I\u2019m not 100%.
